Study on Factors Influencing Depression Based on the Social Ecological Model: Focusing on Emerging Adulthood

Abstract
이 연구는 청소년기를 지나 성인기로 진입하기 이전의 기간인 발현성인기의 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하려는 목적으로 이루어졌다. 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인은 사회생태모형에 근거하였으며 개인‧가족‧환경‧정책 요인을 중심으로 설정하였다. 이를 위해 2019년 한국복지패널 14차 자료의 20~30세 발현성인기 174명의 자료를 활용하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 26을 활용하여 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 발현성인기의 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인은 부정적 자아존중감, 주관적 행복감, 알코올 의존, 가족생활만족도, 청년지원정책 만족도였으며 우울을 54.0% 설명하였다. 우울에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 개인 요인의 부정적 자아존중감이었다. 발현성인기 우울을 감소시키기 위한 전략으로 개인 주관적 행복감, 가족생활만족도, 청년지원정책 만족도를 높이고 부정적 자아존중감과 알코올 의존을 감소시키는 방안에 대해 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that affect depression in emerging adulthood, the period before entering adulthood after passing through adolescence. Factors influencing depression were based on the social ecological model, and were focused on individual, family, environment and policy factors. For this purpose, the data of 174 young people aged 20~30 from the 14th wave of the Korea Welfare Panel in 2019 were used. For analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 26. As a result of data analysis, the factors affecting depression in emerging adulthood were negative self-esteem, subjective well-being, alcohol dependence, family life satisfaction, and youth support policy satisfaction, which accounted for 54.0% of depression. The factor that had the greatest influence on depression was the negative self-esteem of individual factors. As a strategy to reduce depression in emerging adulthood, measures to increase individual subjective well-being, family life satisfaction, youth support policy satisfaction, and reduce negative self-esteem and alcohol dependence were proposed.
